Joseph Caira has a zero-tolerance policy towards conflict and blood diamonds. We use diamonds certified to be conflict free and are in compliance with The Kimberley Process (KPCS). In addition to using diamond melee that adhere to the Kimberley Process, we are proud to offer Canadian diamonds that can be traced back to the mine it came from.

The Kimberley Process

The Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS) is the process established by the United Nations to stop the trade in conflict diamonds. These diamonds as defined by the Kimberley Process are diamonds that finance rebel movements seeking to overthrow national governments.

CanadaMark Diamonds

CanadaMark Diamonds are in full compliance with the Canadian Diamond Code of Conduct. And, regardless of size, every CanadaMark diamond also meets specific standards for color, clarity, finish, and symmetry.

All CanadaMark certified diamonds are:

  • Responsibly mined in Canada’s Northwest Territories, with respect for the sustainability of the natural environment and northern people;
  • Tracked through independent, audited processes at every stage from the mine of origin to the polished stone
  • Natural and untreated
  • Polished to meet specific quality standards

Each CanadaMark diamond comes with a card detailing—

  • Evidence of the diamond’s origins
  • Technical characteristics
  • CanadaMark number inscribed on the diamond
  • Stone weights
